Man of the match: Sachin Tendulkar (Mumbai Indians)

What did he do:  He breathed life into the Mumbai Indians innings with his positive approach and made sure that his knock of 35, including three sixes proved to be the difference between the two teams.

Turning points: Smart captaincy by Sachin Tendulkar and the Mumbai Indians’ slow bowlers claiming the wickets of Andrew Flintoff, Matthew Hayden and Jacob Oram.

Innovative stroke: A Sachin Tendulkar inside out drive to extra cover will be a stand out memory.

Dot-ball hero: Dwayne Bravo bowled 12 dot balls and ensured that the game never got away from the clutches of Mumbai Indians.

Captain vs. captain: Tendulkar controlled the Mumbai Indians innings with an anchoring effort and marshalled his resources superbly. MS Dhoni gave up his gloves and tried to replicate Tendulkar's approach when at the crease but to no avail.

Off-beat moment:  The 10-minutes which showed that every dog has his day. The ground staff ran onto the field but could not get a hold of Bruno, the German shepherd who held up play in the first half of play.
